Welcome to the Website of Intercultural Studies in Communication and Administration!
Intercultural Studies in Communication and Administration is an interdisciplinary, research orientated master’s degree programme within the fast growing field of Cultural Studies. By bringing together students from different national and academic backgrounds the programme provides an inspiring learning environment and will enable new departures in research.
The programme takes advantage of the well-established teaching tradition of the university and at the same time offers an innovative opening to the advantage of the university and participants alike. Its main focus is on questions of identity and cultural difference and how these affect people’s behaviour, ways of thinking and their organised interaction in international and intercultural contexts.
Its theoretical framework draws on comparative management sciences, sociology, anthropology, semiotics, and literary studies. By combining the humanities with management theories the programme is particularly designed to serve the needs of students working or planning to work in multicultural contexts, either in international organisations or on the community level, for example in teaching, counselling or administration.
