Intercultural competence (ICC) is about understanding what cultural boundaries mean in practice - whether you are a translator, an engineer working with foreigners, or a businessman negotiating abroad.
As part of its renewed strategy, the University of Vaasa is dedicated to provide each of its students with such competence - making sure that by the time you graduate, you will be ready to take on working life challenges not only in Finland, but all over the world.
In practice...?
The University offers two broad ways in which you can get hold of intercultural skills in practice. You can either complete a part of your studies abroad, or you can make ICC a part of your degree: by studying relevant courses, or involving it in your bachelor's thesis.
