Currently, there are five Master's degree programmes available in English at the University of Vaasa:
- Master's Degree Programme in Finance
- Master's Degree Programme in International Business
- Master's Degree Programme in Intercultural Studies in Communication and Administration
- Master's Programme in Telecommunication Engineering
- Master's Programme in Industrial Management
There are many non-degree programmes designed especially for international exchange students. The programmes are the following:
- Scandinavian Business Studies
- Modern Economics and Economic Thinking
- International Business Studies
- East-West Business Studies
- European Affairs
- Finance Studies
- Multimedia Authoring Systems
- Industrial Management
- Telecommunication Engineering
- Public Management
- Intercultural Studies
- Multilingualism (working knowledge in Swedish required)
- Swedish and Scandinavian Languages (working knowledge in Swedish is required)
- German Language and Literature (working knowledge in German required)
The overall annual intake of new degree students to the University of Vaasa is about 800 of which 125 are international degree students on the Master's level. There are about 35 international doctoral students studying at the University. The amount of full-term international exchange students coming to the University annually is about 200. In addition, there are about 60 short-term exchanges. All in all there are more than 400 international students on campus each year.
International students may come to study at the University of Vaasa with one of the following student statuses:
- Exchange student (through ERASMUS, NORDPLUS or bilateral agreement)
- Master's degree student (regular student studying for a Master’s degree at the University of Vaasa)
- Doctoral student (studying for a doctorate degree)
